The Magalies Adventure
Hi Trent
I wrote a story for your website…..
I decided to get into mountain biking and was invited to take part in the Magalies adventure (www.magaliesadventure.co.za), with a few work colleagues (all avid cyclists) i managed to borrow a bike from a friend and do a few warm up weekend rides and spinning classes before the event, including my usual kettle bell routine.
i was amazed at my level of fitness for cycling, as kettles every day is my only exercise! the event took place over 3 stages, the longest was a 75km monster (my partner dropped off half way as he had over cooked himself in the early stages!). i carried on without him and completed all 3 stages with an individual placing of 10th overall. not bad for a first timer!
there is no doubt in my mind that this was only possible through the amazing all round workout you get from kettle bells! the combination of cardio, weight training and mental focus that you develop through the training is leagues ahead of a gym class or spinning session! it created an amazing base for the weekend.
for any sports person looking to raise their game or just increase their fitness so that they can love their hobbies again, adding kettle bells to a training routine will get you there!
